Brother Rice High School is a Catholic community of faith. Students are required to take a theology course every year at Brother Rice. All students are required to perform 20 hours of service to the community each year. Students are encouraged to become involved with the spiritual life of the school community such as assisting at all-school liturgies as altar servers and lectors, being trained as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion for school masses, serving as a student leader on Kairos, being a member of the Blessed Edmund Rice Service Corps, leading Middle School and Elementary School Retreats.

Recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School for Academic Excellence. Brother Rice offers 41 Honors & AP Courses. The Band of Brothers is a schoolwide system that helps create leadership opportunities as well as growth in camaraderie across class lines. The students involved aspire to grow their Character to match-up with what the 4 pillars of the Band of Brothers stand for: R=Respect, I=Integrity, C=Character, E=Excellence.
